How to Add Brochures and Literature

Adding brochures and literature on The Lighting Exchange® is a great way to connect potential customers with more information about your products. The upload process is simple, and requires only a few steps.

To start, click on Literature in your sidebar navigation. Doing so will take you to your Literature Management page. In the top right hand corner of this page is a blue button titled “Add Literature.”

To add Literature, simply input the document’s name, the link to the document on your website, and a thumbnail image of the cover before clicking “Save Literature.”

You are given the ability to crop your cover image to the correct aspect ratio in-browser, so no prior editing is required for any images you upload (so long as they are smaller than the 4MB maximum). The general image size ratio is similar to a piece of paper, at least 232 px x 180 px.

When you select “Save Literature” you will be given the opportunity to crop your image. Click and drag within the square to move the selection, or click and drag the corners of the square to resize the selection. When you are happy with your image click “Crop” in the upper right hand corner.

Finally you are in the preview screen and the view shows you what your literature thumbnail will look like for customers. To complete the process you must select one of the four options:

  1. “Save as Draft”- Saves your progress and allows you to publish the literature at a later date.
  2. “Publish”- This will publish the literature and add it to your literature selection for all of your Agents within The Lighting Exchange®.
  3. “Publish & Feature”- This will publish the literature and features it as one of the 6 pieces shown on your agents public line card.
  4. “Back to Edit”- Takes you back to the prior screen to make additional changes.

You can add as many pieces of literature as you’d like however only six can be featured. Featuring pieces make them visible on your Agents’ line cards as well, where the non-featured pieces can be found and used within the portal.
